Empowering Women to Thrive

The Magnolia Project emerged from the conviction that every woman deserves to flourish. It started as a quest to establish a sanctuary for women facing adversity, offering them vital resources, guidance, and a nurturing community.

Founder’s Welcome

I’m Jennifer Ritter, the founder of The Magnolia Project. My story begins in Virginia, but Tennessee has become the place where my heart and my work truly thrive. I’m a proud wife, a mother of three wonderful adult children and proud stepmom to six, yes, we have nine children! While life today is full of love and joy, it hasn’t always been easy.

I’ve faced more than a decade of domestic abuse, experienced the struggles of addiction within my family, and have had to rebuild my life from the ground up on more occasions than I can count. But it’s through these hardships that I’ve learned the true meaning of resilience, and I’ve made it my mission to help other women discover the same strength within themselves.

Professionally, I have over ten years of experience in nonprofit and healthcare leadership. With a Master of Public Health, I’ve managed projects that raised hundreds of thousands for underfunded programs and established successful initiatives in donor engagement, physician recruitment, and community development. I have spent countless hours volunteering on various boards and love this community we serve. Whether creating campaigns that inspire change or founding a medication-assisted treatment facility, I have dedicated my career to supporting people and communities.

The Magnolia Project is a continuation of my life’s work and personal experiences—empowering women who, like me, have faced extreme adversity. I am neither a therapist, a pastor, or a sage. What I am is a woman who has been through the storm and come out stronger on the other side, and I’m here to help you do the same. Let’s journey together toward transformation, hope, and a future full of possibility.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower women facing adversity to break generational cycles of poverty, abuse, trauma and oppression through holistic support and shared journeys of resilience.

Our History

The Magnolia Project began as a program for women that simply wanted something more. These wonderful ladies came together to learn and grow and with each graduating class a true movement was born. Our original program helped so many women to overcome adversity and achieve personal and professional growth through our ten-week program. Alumni of the program stand as beacons of determination and triumph, embodying the enduring influence of our initiative.

Our Vision

We envision a community where women experiencing recovery from trauma, domestic violence, and financial hardships can access the support and resources necessary to empower themselves, ensure their safety, and build sustainable independent futures.
